HOW WE MEASURE
PHYSICAL THERAPY
PERFORMANCE

Most clinics clear you based on time.
We clear you based on data.

THE PROBLEM WITH TRADITIONAL PT

PAIN RELIEF AS THE FINISH LINE

Most physical therapy clinics progress patients based on time. Hit the 12-week mark. Check the box. You’re cleared.

That approach treats pain relief as the finish line. It’s not.

Traditional physical therapy is largely reactive; it focuses on treating injuries and restoring function. That’s valuable. But we shouldn’t stop there.

THE MYOMUV DIFFERENCE

PAIN RELIEF AS THE FIRST PHASE

For active people and athletes, restoring function isn’t enough. The goal of performance physical therapy is to raise your body’s capacity beyond where it was, not just return you to baseline.

The key difference at MYOMUV is simple: we take a proactive approach. We use timelines, but timelines don’t decide readiness. Performance does.

If the numbers aren’t there, you’re not ready.

FIVE PILLARS OF PERFORMANCE PHYSICAL THERAPY

THE MYOMUV PERFORMANCE FRAMEWORK

Performance physical therapy is built around one idea: assess the whole person, not just the injury. Before we build your plan, every client completes an initial evaluation across five performance areas. Together, they give us, and you, a clear picture of what’s limiting you and what needs to improve.

Foundation of Movement

Mobility

Can your body get into the positions it needs to?

Mobility isn’t just flexibility. It’s whether your body can actually get into and control the positions your training demands.

Measured by: Range of motion and movement patterns to find where you’re restricted and why.

01

Identifying Imbalances

STRENGTH

Are you strong enough for what you’re asking your body to do? More importantly, are you symmetrical?

Muscle imbalances between sides are one of the most common and overlooked drivers of injury. Most athletes, from weekend warriors to the professional athlete, don’t know they have one until something gives out.

Measured by: Force plate data, 1RM and 3RM testing, and load tolerance across the movements that matter most to your training or sport.

02

Capturing a baseline

Capacity

Capacity is your engine size. It’s not just about one strong rep, it’s about whether your body holds up under repeated effort over time.

This shapes how we structure your recovery, your training load, and your progression from start to finish.

Measured by: Reps under load.

03

The Ultimate go/no-go metric

Power

Power is strength expressed quickly. The first step off the line, the cut, the jump, the sprint.

For athletes coming back from surgery or injury, this is one of the last things to return and one of the most important to test.

Measured by: Vertical jump, single-leg hop testing, countermovement jump, and rate of force development on the force plate.

04

The Goal of Injury Rehabilitation

Confidence Under Load

Do you hesitate at full speed? Hold back without realizing it?

Confidence under load is the part of injury rehabilitation most clinics never measure, but it matters as much as anything else. It’s rebuilt through proof, not reassurance.

When the numbers show you’ve hit the marks, trust in your body comes back on its own. Not because someone told you you’re ready, but because the data shows it and you feel it.

05

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE IN PRACTICE

MEASUREMENTS FOR EACH GOAL

Performance physical therapy isn’t just for elite athletes. It’s for anyone who wants to move better, feel stronger, and stay injury free, at any age, any level.

PT FOR RETURN TO SPORT
ACL RECOVERY

Before we clear an athlete, we need to see quad strength symmetry, single-leg power output, and the ability to react under cutting stress. These aren’t arbitrary checkpoints, they’re objective proof that your body can meet the physical demands of your sport.

We measure using: force plates, single-leg hop tests, crossover hop tests, countermovement jumps, and agility drills.

Hip strength imbalances and reduced load tolerance directly affect how efficiently you transfer power to the pedal and how long you can sustain it. We connect what’s happening in your body to what’s happening on the bike.

Performance therapy for cyclists means identifying the specific physical limitations affecting your ride and fixing them with a targeted, structured plan.

We measure using: power output symmetry, hip stability, cadence efficiency, and load tolerance.

If something is holding your training back, we’ll find it. A physical therapist at MyoMuv will analyze your movement patterns to identify the hidden imbalances and weaknesses limiting your lifts, the places where one muscle group quietly overcompensates for another.

Train smarter by addressing the root cause, not just the symptom.

We measure using: load tolerance, movement efficiency, and asymmetry correction.

Staying strong and independent as you age requires a proactive approach. We measure strength relative to body weight, balance metrics, and reaction speed, building the foundation to prevent injuries, reduce fall risk, and stay active for decades.

Performance goals aren’t just for athletes. They’re for anyone committed to living well.

We measure using: strength-to-bodyweight ratios, balance and stability assessments, and reaction speed testing.

Data Drives Better Care

WHY MEASUREMENT IS THE FOUNDATION
PERFORMANCE PHYSICAL THERAPY

Measurement isn’t just a clinical tool. It drives the entire experience of physical therapy, for you, for us, and for everyone involved in your training.

FOR YOU

You can see the work is working. Every retest shows you exactly what’s improving.

No guessing. Just proof.

FOR us

Data drives every decision.

What to do.

When to push.

When to hold.

FOR YOUr coach

Measurement creates a shared language between your physical therapist and your coach. They stop pulling against each other and start moving in the same direction.

READY TO SEE WHERE YOU STAND?

Start with an Initial Evaluation

Your initial evaluation covers all five pillars. You’ll leave with a clear picture of what’s limiting you and a structured plan to fix it.

No cookie-cutter plans. No generic protocols. Just data, direction, and a physical therapy team committed to your performance.
